BSF Recruitment: Centre govt. declares 10% reservation will be available in BSF recruitment, age relaxation also announced

Agnipath Scheme: The Union Home Ministry has announced 10 percent reservation for former firemen in Border Security Force (BSF) recruitment. Along with this, relaxation in upper age-limit criteria has also been announced.



However, the age relaxation will depend on whether they are part of the first batch or subsequent batches. On June 14 last year, the government announced the Agneepath scheme to recruit soldiers in all three services (Army, Navy and Air Force).

Under the Agnipath scheme, the central government has made a big announcement for the Agniveers who have completed four years in the Indian Army. The Union Home Ministry has announced 10 per cent reservation for former firefighters in Border Security Force (BSF) recruitment. Along with this, relaxation in upper age-limit criteria has also been announced. However, the age relaxation will depend on whether they are part of the first batch or subsequent batches. The Ministry of Home Affairs has announced this through a notification on 6 March.

Earlier, the Center has also announced reservation for Agniveers in Assam Rifles and Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) . As per the notification of Ministry of Home Affairs, relaxation of five years in the age limit will be provided to the candidates of the first batch of Ex-Agniveers for the post of Constable. While all subsequent batches of ex-Agniveers will get age relaxation of 3 years.

According to the news agency ANI, the Ministry of Home Affairs has made this announcement through a notification on 6 March. The notification said the central government has announced 10 per cent reservation for ex-fire veterans in vacancies within the BSF. Also the upper age-limit criteria are relaxed depending upon whether they are part of first batch or subsequent batches.”

The central government announced that the rules for the part related to the post of constable would be changed. Along with this, relaxation in the upper age limit will be inserted. Earlier, the central government had announced that 10 per cent vacancies in central paramilitary forces and Assam Rifles would be reserved for Agniveers after four years of service.

Last year, the center had announced the Agneepath scheme

Let us tell you that on June 14 last year, the government had announced the Agneepath scheme for the recruitment of soldiers in all the three services (Army, Navy and Air Force). This scheme provides an opportunity to serve in the Armed Forces for a period of four years. Under this scheme, the youth joining the army will be named Agniveer.

However, after four years, only 25 per cent of jawans from each batch will be retained in their respective services for a period of 15 years. Opposition parties have criticized the exercise but the government has said it will make the armed forces more youthful and meet its current needs.
