A big update has come regarding Aadhaar. Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has introduced a new facility for Aadhaar card holders. In this facility, now you will not have to go to the Aadhaar center to update your mobile number in Aadhaar. This work will be done sitting at home (doorstep) with the help of postman. The postman will come to your home and update your mobile number. Let’s know its details

Agreement signed between UIDAI-IPPB

India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) and Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) have signed an agreement to provide doorstep mobile number updating facility to Aadhaar card holders. Under this, the postmen will update the mobile number of the Aadhar card.

Large network near IPPB

Actually, the facility of updating mobile number in doorstep Aadhaar will be possible through a vast network. This service will be available through the network of 650 India Post Payments Bank (IPPB), 1.46 lakh postmen and Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS). According to IPPB MD & CEO J Venkataramu, UIDAI’s mobile update service will be available in areas where banking services are not available through the vast network of post offices, postmen and GDS.

Children’s enrollment service will start soon

IPPB is currently providing only mobile update service. Very soon it will also start enrollment service of children through its network. According to UIDAI, 128.99 crore Aadhaar numbers have been issued till March 31 this year.

Mobile number updation is necessary

If you have changed your mobile number, then definitely update it in Aadhaar. If you will use the Aadhaar number for any verification process, then an OTP will be sent to your number. This OTP will come on your registered mobile number or email id. In such a situation, if your wrong or old number is lying on Aadhaar, then you will not be able to get OTP, due to which you will not be able to complete your process. With this, you will not be able to link your Aadhaar with any document.
