The pension insurance regulator has directed that all banks should use different platforms. They should provide facility of submission of life certificates to bed-ridden, hospitalized pensioners by appointing doorstep banking officers.



Pensioner Digital Life Certificate: There is relief news for pensioners across the country. From October 1, you will not have to go to the bank to submit the life certificate. Now the bank personnel will come to your home and collect your life certificate. This process is starting from October 1, it will be available to elderly pensioners above 80 years of age. About 69.76 lakh central government pensioners are expected to benefit from this.

Banks received these instructions regarding pensioners

Actually, submission of life certificate for very senior pensioners aged 80 years and above starts from 1st October every year while for others the submission of life certificate starts from 1st November every year. But this year, while giving relief to the pensioners, the Central Government has directed the pension regulator PFRDA to the banks to run a doorstep campaign to upload or submit the pension life certificate to the very senior citizens.

Through the face authentication technology used in Digital Life Certificate, every citizen can submit their Digital Life Certificate from home through Android smartphone or bank branch.
The order also emphasizes the need for timely submission of life certificate, especially by very senior pensioners aged 80 years and above. Banks have been directed to inform the pensioners through SMS, email or WhatsApp. Send Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) links to further simplify the process.

What is life certificate?

To continue receiving their pension, Central Government pensioners have to provide proof of their existence, i.e. Jeevan Pramaan, i.e. Annual Life Certificate, to the Pension Disbursing Agency (PDA) every year. This certificate is a very important document, Because it is proof of the existence of the pensioner.

What is digital life certificate

According to India Post Payments Bank, Digital Life Certificate (Jeevan Pramaan) is a biometric enabled digital service for pensioners. Pensioners of Central or State Government, Employees Provident Fund Organization or any other government organization whose pension disbursing agency is live for Digital Life Certificate (DLC) can avail this facility.
