New Delhi . The new portal of Income Tax has been in a lot of controversies. Infosys also got a lot of notoriety because of the glitches in the new portal. However, now the company has claimed to fix the income tax portal. The company said that more than 1.5 crore people have filed returns on the new IT portal, while 30 million people have launched a new IT portal for one or the other transaction.

Infosys said in an information given to the BSE on Thursday, “The use of new IT portals has increased in the last few weeks. The problems faced by the taxpayers are being removed. So far, about 3 crore taxpayers have done different types of work by logging in. Whereas only the number of return filers is 1.5 crore.

The new portal was started on 7th June The new portal of
income tax was started on 7th June. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had called the officials of Infosys for a meeting after the new site was continuously disturbed. This meeting was held first on June and then on August 23. Nirmala Sitharaman had given time till September 15 to fix the glitches in the new IT portal.





The last date was extended due to a glitch in the portal,
however, despite the deadline of September 15, Infosys has not been able to completely fix the errors in the new portal. Some tax professionals have told Moneycontrol that some features have been improved but there are still many problems. Due to discrepancies in the new portal, the government has extended the last date for filing returns to 31 December 2021. Infosys has reported that about 15 lakh taxpayers have logged in every day in September.



In this case, Infosys was termed as anti-national by ‘Panchjanya’, a weekly magazine associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The magazine in its latest edition had published a four-page cover story titled ‘Saakh and Aghatta’. The question was raised whether any “anti-national force is trying to harm India’s economic interests through this?”
