IT Sector Crisis: IT companies around the world are facing difficulties these days. In the current economic environment, the worst effect has been on the IT sector companies.

IT sector jobs have been considered as dream jobs. Even today this sector is providing great opportunities for job and career growth, but the current economic conditions have affected it deeply. For this reason, on the one hand, big companies are resorting to retrenchment and salary cuts, on the other hand, there has been a decline in new job opportunities. In the midst of all this, Wipro has taken a strange step, due to which the problems of freshers have increased.

Freshers waiting for onboarding

There are reports about many Indian IT companies delaying the onboarding of freshers. In some cases, more than 1-2 years have passed since the selection of the freshers, but till now their onboarding has not been done. Wipro is also one of those companies where there is a lot of delay in onboarding. Now Wipro has put a new condition in front of freshers waiting for onboarding.

Sorting will be done after the test

According to a news from Business Today, freshers waiting for onboarding in Wipro will now have to undergo a new training. After that the company will take everyone’s test. Those who pass the test will be onboarded, while the rest will be weeded out. Wipro has taken this new step at a time when it has already almost halved the salary of freshers. The company has reduced the salary of freshers from Rs 6.5 lakh per annum to Rs 3.5 lakh in February this year.

A fresher told his pain

Quoting sources in the news, it has been told that the company has added the condition of new training, while the freshers waiting for onboarding have already completed a training. In the news, one such affected fresher has told that he has already been given velocity training. After that, a package offer of Rs 6.5 lakh was made by the company. After waiting for almost a year, the company offered him to join with half the salary in February this year. Now the condition of PRP training has been placed in front of him, after which there will be a test and there is a possibility of being shortlisted.

Criticism in the industry

In the instructions sent by the company to the freshers regarding the new training, it has been said that if an employee does not cross the PRP training i.e. Project Readiness Program round with at least 60 per cent score, then he will be terminated with immediate effect. Will be done. There is already a lot of criticism for imposing such a condition after years of delay in the onboarding process.

Company has not responded

However, nothing has been officially said about this from Wipro’s side. The company has neither confirmed nor denied it yet. Let us tell you that the top two IT companies TCS and Infosys have released the March quarter results. The quarterly results of both the companies were not in line with the expectations of the market.
