Aadhaar PAN Link: The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has extended the deadline for linking PAN-Aadhaar till March 31, 2023, but those who have not linked it yet will have to pay a penalty.



Aadhaar Card PAN Card Link: From July 1, many rules are going to change. One of these rules is to link PAN with Aadhaar. If you haven’t linked PAN card with Aadhar card yet, then now is your last chance before paying double penalty. If you miss this chance too, you will have to pay a double penalty.

Will have to pay such a fine

If the PAN card is linked with the Aadhar card after June 30 i.e. from July 1, then people will have to pay a fine of one thousand rupees. On the other hand, if PAN card is linked with Aadhar card by June 30, then this work will be done in only Rs 500. It is better to get this work done before 30th June than to pay double fine.

The government says that it is necessary for the people to link the PAN card with the Aadhar card.

How to link PAN Card-Aadhaar Card—

  • Visit the official portal of Income Tax e-filing www.incometax.gov.in .
  • If you have not previously used your PAN as your User ID and have not set a password, then register on it. Login to the Income Tax Portal using your login credentials.
  • You will see a popup screen. If it doesn’t, go to Profile Settings from the menu bar and select the ‘Link Aadhaar’ option.
  • A new screen will open. In the new screen enter PAN number, Aadhar details, your name and mobile number in the given boxes.
  • After verifying the details, click on the option ‘I agree to validate my Aadhaar details’. Then select the ‘Continue’ option.
  • You will get One Time Password (OTP) on your registered mobile number. Enter it in the box on the screen and click on ‘Validate’. After paying the penalty, your PAN-Aadhaar will be linked.
