Jaipur: The central government is looking serious for reservation for differently-abled people in Panchayati Raj and civic elections. The Union Ministry of Social Justice Empowerment has written a letter to all the states and ordered to take action. Although in Rajasthan, Divyangjans have started getting reservation in the bodies, but there is still a wait for reservation in Panchayati Raj elections.


Letter from central ministry for 4 percent reservation

Once again the discussion of reservation for Divyangjan in elections has started in the country. After the letter of the central government, this issue has once again gained momentum. The Central Director of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, KVS Rao has written a letter to all the states asking them to take action of 4 percent reservation in Panchayati Raj and civic elections. That is, the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment is completely serious about reservation for the differently-abled in elections. Hemant Bhai Goel, a disability expert working for the interests of Divyangjan, had written a letter to the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

Reservation in bodies in Rajasthan, waiting in Panchayati Raj

However, in the bodies of Rajasthan, the Divyangjans are getting reservation. After the instructions of CM Gehlot, recently the Autonomous Government Department is nominating the differently-abled as councilors, but there is still a wait for reservation in Panchayati Raj elections. Chhattisgarh government is preparing to give opportunity to Divyangjans to work as public representatives in Panchayats to give them the right to equality in politics. There, in the panchayats where no disabled person will come after winning the election, the Chhattisgarh government will be able to nominate Divyangjan. For this, the proposal to amend the section of the Chhattisgarh Government Panchayati Raj Act 1993 will be approved.


Divyangjan can become strong and empowered

There are more than 16 lakh Divyangjan in Rajasthan, in such a situation, it is expected from the government that there will be reservation in Panchayati Raj elections so that the Divyang of the state can become stronger and stronger.
