State government’s contribution has been increased from 10 percent to 14 percent. This will benefit lakhs of employees in pension.

There is good news for Government Employees-Pensioners of Chhattisgarh. The pension amount is going to increase soon. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has announced to increase the contribution of the state government from 10 percent to 14 percent under the Employees’ Contributory Pension Scheme. This will benefit lakhs of employees in pension.

In fact, recently on the occasion of Republic Day, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has also announced to increase the contribution of the state government from 10 percent to 14 percent in the contributory pension scheme in the interest of government employees. About three lakh employees will get the benefit of this. Now the contribution of the State Government will be increased from 10 percent to 14 percent, although the contribution of the employees will remain as before 10 percent.

The special thing is that Chhattisgarh has become the first state which has increased its contribution in pension from 10 to 14 percent. Now the contribution of the state government will be 14 percent instead of 10 percent of the basic salary and dearness allowance of the employees. With this decision, the annual additional expenditure burden of about Rs 520 crore will be incurred on the state government. In the case of central employees, the central government contributes 14 percent, now the Chhattisgarh government will also contribute equally to the central government. Its direct benefit will be given to the employees in the pension fund at the time of retirement.
