Bid to boost vocal for local initiative, ePaisa expands Point of Sale solution in Northeast

ePaisa, one of the leading Point of Sale ecosystems in India has recently expanded its Point of Sale (POS) services in the Northeast region boosting the vocal for local initiative of the Government of India.

The expansion is a big step to uplift the retail business in the Seven Sisters—Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura– through digitalization, a statement released by the company said on Tuesday.

Being a major POS player in the country, the company is now overlooking at a PAN India presence to cater to the respective market especially in Tier-II and Tier-III zones.

“The Seven Sisters being an uplifting market, the primary focus is to digitalize the SME, MME, and retail segments by addressing their merchant pain points and organizing their day-today businesses effectively and efficiently,” it said.

The cloud-based POS comes with the new Retail OS with much more upgraded features.

Right from on cloud inventory management, bar code scanning to digital billing, the merchants can view their business on the dashboard of the windows and additionally have a seamless experience.

“The POS’s also come with the Omni payment feature that enables all the available payments acceptance in India i.e. Debit/Credit Card and QR Payment acceptance via all UPI enabled applications. Thus, it lets the small and medium-size business to accept all forms of wallet payments, making transactions extremely easy and hassle-free,” said the company.

As data states, in India, the Point of Sale has become a key for Digital Transformation in the retail sector with the number of points of sale (POS) terminals increased to 3.99 million in June 2019 from 3.31 million in June 2018 which is an increase of 20.5 percent.

Moreover, the COVID 19 pandemic has bought many challenges in the retail & SME business, and to tackle them digital Point of Sale is the need of the hour.
