Bank holidays in September 2022: Big news! Banks to remain closed for 12 days in June 2022 – Check complete list

Bank Holidays in September 2022: All bank branches are going to be there for 12 days in September. Also, the stock market is also going to be closed for 8 days including today. These include weekend holidays. If you have to go to the bank for some work this month, then leave the house only after checking the list of holidays, so that you do not find the bank branch closed.

Weekend holidays

Banks in the country work on the first and fourth Saturdays of the month. Whereas, the second and third Saturdays are holidays. Banks are also closed on all Sundays. Banks will now be closed for 12 days in September. Apart from this, the stock market is going to be closed for 8 days. The stock market will not be closed in September due to any festival, it will be closed only due to weekend holidays.

Complete List of Bank Holidays in September 2022

  • September 4: First Sunday of the month.
  • September 6: Banks in Ranchi will remain closed on account of Karma Puja.
  • September 7: Banks will remain closed in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram for the first Onam.
  • September 8: Banks will remain closed in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram in Thiruvonam.
  • September 9: Banks will remain closed in Gangtok as Indrajatra will be here on this day.
  • September 10: While banks in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram are listed to remain closed on the occasion of Sree Narayana Guru Jayanti as per RBI. Banks will remain closed as it is the second Saturday of the month.
  • September 11: Second Sunday of the month.
  • September 18: Third Sunday of the month.
  • September 21: Banks will remain closed in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram on the occasion of Sree Narayana Guru Samadhi Day.
  • September 24: Fourth Saturday of the month.
  • September 25: Fourth Sunday of the month.
  • 26 September: Banks will remain closed in Imphal and Jaipur on the occasion of Navratri Sthapana/ Mera Chauren Hauba of Lanningthou Sanmahi.

Holidays as per RBI

There are some bank holidays which are observed in the state itself. Then banks are not closed in all states. RBI keeps its holidays in three categories. Negotiable Instruments Act, Negotiable Instruments Act and Real-time gross settlement holidays and account closing. Except weekends come under the ‘Negotiable Instruments Act’ of RBI.
