Bank Holidays in May 2022: There are going to be many days off in the banks in May. According to the calendar issued by the Reserve Bank of India, the first day of the month will be a holiday. At the same time, if we talk about the whole month, then the banks will be closed for 14 days.

There will be a holiday in banks from May 1 to 4

Actually, this list of holidays is decided according to the different festivals celebrated across the country and the states. In the month of May, there is going to be a holiday in the banks for the first four days.

Banks will remain closed for 14 days in May

  • May 1 (Sunday) – is May Day and Maharashtra Day. On this day there will be a holiday across the country including Maharashtra.
  • May 2 (Monday) – This day is Maharishi Parshuram Jayanti. There will be a holiday in many states.
  • May 3 (Tuesday) – This day is Eid-ul-Fitr and Baswa Jayanti. Banks will remain closed in Karnataka.
  • May 4 (Wednesday) – On this day there will be a holiday of Eid-ul-Fitr in the banks of Telangana.
  • May 8 – On this day, there will be a Sunday holiday in banks across the country.
  • 9 May (Monday) – This day is Guru Rabindranath Jayanti. Banks will remain closed in West Bengal and Tripura.
  • May 13 (Thursday) – Eid-ul-Fitr will be a holiday in banks across the country.
  • May 14 – Banks will remain closed due to second Saturday.
  • May 15 – Sunday will be a holiday in banks.
  • 16 May (Monday) – Sikkim will be a State Day holiday and banks will not open in many states due to Buddha Purnima.
  • May 22 – Due to Sunday, there will be a holiday in banks across the country.
  • May 24 (Tuesday) – Banks will not open in Sikkim due to the birth anniversary of Kazi Nazrul Islam.
  • May 28 – Fourth Saturday will be a holiday in banks.
  • May 29 – Sunday will be a holiday.

Banking business can be dealt with online

Different days will be a holiday in different states. It is not necessary that all holidays will be applicable in all states. On the day when there is a holiday in your state, you can deal with banking business online on that day.
