Banks in India continue to work on the first and third Saturdays of the month, while the second and fourth Saturdays are bank holidays. According to the calendar of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in March 2023, private and public sector banks will remain closed for 12 days. Let us show you the complete list of bank holidays in March.

Banks may also be closed on all public holidays depending on the regional holidays of the particular state. Such regional holidays are decided by the respective state governments and are not mentioned on the official website of RBI.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has kept the holidays in three brackets. Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act; Negotiable Instruments Act and Real-Time Gross Settlement Holiday.

The first bank holiday starts from Chapchar Kut on 3rd March and other holidays like Gudi Padwa/Ugadi festival/Bihar Divas are falling on 22nd March. Banks in some states will observe holidays as per RBI calendar. There are four Sundays in March which are falling on 5,12,19 and 26 March. The second and fourth Saturdays are on March 11 and 25. Under the Negotiable Instruments Act, RBI has declared a holiday on 3, 7, 8, 9, 22 and 30 March. Apart from this, there are six bank holidays in March 2023 as per the RBI calendar.
