Bank Holidays Alert: According to the list of holidays released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks will remain closed for 16 days in September. However, from tomorrow i.e. 21st September, banks will remain closed for 9 days in the coming 12 days.

Bank Holidays Alert: The month of September is going on and during this month banks all over India will remain closed for about 16 days depending on any special occasion nationally and regionally. This also includes weekend holidays, i.e. second and fourth Saturdays and all Sundays. However, as the month is about to end, you should know when and when there will be bank holidays in the coming days. Let us tell you that banks will remain closed for 9 days in the coming 12 days.


Internet banking services will remain operational during these days. ATM service will also be available. Some holidays in the list are specific to certain states or regions only, while some have been selected as public holidays.

Banks will remain closed in these coming days

  • 22 September – Sree Narayana Guru Samadhi Day (Banks will remain closed in Kochi, Panaji and Trivandrum.)
  • 23 September – Birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji
  • 24 September- Sunday
  • 25 September – Birth anniversary of Srimanta Sankardev (Banks will remain closed in Guwahati)
  • 27 September – Milad-e-Sherif (Banks will remain closed in Jammu, Kochi, Srinagar)
  • 28 September – Eid-e-Milad (Banks will remain closed in cities like Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Bhopal, Dehradun.)
  • 29 September – Eid-e-Milad-ul-Nabi (Banks will remain closed in Gangtok, Jammu and Srinagar.)
  • 1 October 2023- Sunday
  • 2 October 2023- Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti
