Bank Holiday: Banks will remain closed on June 27 on the occasion of Rath Yatra in Odisha and Manipur. Rath Yatra, a major Hindu festival of Lord Jagannath, is celebrated with great pomp especially in Puri, Odisha.

Bank Holiday: Several holidays have been declared for banks in India in June 2025, of which June 27 and 30 are particularly important. According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) calendar, banks will remain closed in different parts of the country on these dates. These holidays are due to regional and religious festivals, which reflect the cultural diversity of India.

June 27, 2025: Rath Yatra/Kang

Banks will remain closed on June 27 on the occasion of Rath Yatra in Odisha and Manipur. Rath Yatra, a major Hindu festival of Lord Jagannath, is celebrated with great pomp especially in Puri, Odisha. In Manipur it is celebrated as ‘Kang’, which is part of the local culture. Bank branches will remain closed in these states, but banks will function normally in other states.

30 June 2025: Remna Ni

On June 30, there will be a bank holiday in Mizoram to commemorate Remna Ni. Remna Ni is celebrated in memory of the Mizoram Peace Accord, a historic agreement signed in 1986 between the Mizo National Front and the Central Government. The day is a symbol of peace and unity for the people of Mizoram. For this reason, all bank branches will remain closed in Mizoram, but this holiday will not apply in other states.

These services will remain operational

Despite the bank holiday on June 27 and 30, 2025, the following services and facilities will remain operational:

  • Net banking: Online fund transfer, bill payments, and account management will remain available.
  • Mobile banking: Transactions and other services through the bank’s mobile app will remain operational.
  • UPI: Instant payment facility will be available through platforms like PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm.
