Bank Holiday: Banks will remain closed for 2 days in these states of the country due to Eid

Bank Holiday: Due to Eid, banks will remain closed for 2 days in many states of the country. Eid-e-Milad festival will be celebrated in the country on 5th and 6th September. Public and private sector banks will remain closed on both these days.

Banks will remain closed on Friday 5 September

Banks are going to remain closed on Friday 5 September. Banks will remain closed in many cities including Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad due to Eid-e-Milad and Thiruvonam. However, apart from these, banks will remain open in other states of the country. Eid-e-Milad un-Nabi, also known as Milad-e-Sharif or Bara Wafat, is a very special day for the Muslim community. It is celebrated in memory of the birthday of Prophet Hazrat Mohammad Saheb. At the same time, Thiruvonam i.e. Onam festival is the biggest festival of Kerala.

Banks will remain closed on Saturday 6 September

September 6 will be the first Saturday of the month. Banks are open on the first Saturday. However, banks will remain closed in Gangtok, Jammu, Raipur and Srinagar due to Eid-e-Milad and Indrajatra.

September 3 (Wednesday): Karma Puja in Ranchi.

September 4 (Thursday): Onam in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram.

September 5 (Friday): Eid-e-Milad/Thiruvonam in many cities including Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad.

September 6 (Saturday): Eid-e-Milad/Indrajatra in Gangtok, Jammu, Raipur and Srinagar.

September 12 (Friday): Friday after Eid-e-Milad in Jammu and Srinagar.

September 22 (Monday): Navratri establishment in Jaipur.

September 23 (Tuesday): Maharaja Hari Singh Jayanti in Jammu and Srinagar.

September 29 (Monday): Maha Saptami/Durga Puja in Agartala, Gangtok and Kolkata.

September 30 (Tuesday): Maha Ashtami/Durga Ashtami in several cities including Agartala, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Kolkata, Patna and Ranchi.
