Bangladesh has taken a major decision against Indian sports. A statement was issued on Monday stating that several sports events, including the IPL (Indian Premier League), will not be broadcast in Bangladesh. This decision comes at a time when Bangladesh has refused to travel to India to play in the T20 World Cup.
According to the latest order, authorities have indefinitely suspended all broadcasts, promotions, and event coverage related to the IPL. Officials stated that the decision was taken in the “public interest.” Previously, the decision was made to release Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman from the Kolkata Knight Riders ( KKR ) team.
Rahman’s inclusion in the team faced significant opposition in India due to ongoing attacks on minorities in Bangladesh. Bangladesh officials maintain that the decision was a directive from the BCCI, the Board of Control for Cricket in India. They also claimed that no “logical” reason was given for the decision.
Demand to take the match out of India
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided not to send its national team to India for next month’s T20 World Cup, citing security concerns and government advice.
Following Rahman’s sudden exclusion from the IPL, the BCB called an emergency meeting on Saturday night, announcing a day later that the board of directors had decided not to travel to India for the T20 World Cup, which begins on February 7.
“The Board has reviewed the situation taking into account the developments over the past 24 hours. It has expressed its deep concern at the current circumstances relating to the participation of the Bangladesh national team in matches to be played in India,” the BCB said in a statement.
