Ayushman Card e-KYC

The Ayushman Bharat Yojana is one of the country’s largest health programs, providing free treatment up to ₹5 lakh per year to every eligible family. Millions of people are taking advantage of this scheme. However, the government recently issued an important update. Now, to continue receiving the benefits of the Ayushman card, beneficiaries will need to complete their e-KYC process. Without this, many people may face difficulties in receiving the benefits of the scheme.

Ways to do e-KYC

That’s why the government has provided four easy options to make e-KYC easier and faster: OTP verification, fingerprint, iris scan, and face authentication. Using these methods, any beneficiary can quickly complete their e-KYC using their mobile phone or the nearest CSC center. What is e-KYC, why is it important, how to do it, and what to keep in mind.

How to do e-KYC through Ayushman Bharat App?

Step 1: Download the Ayushman App.

Open the Google Play Store on your mobile. Search for “Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission” or “ABHA / Ayushman App.” Download and install the official app. Open the app and select your language (Hindi/English). Log in with your mobile number. Enter the OTP received on your number.

Step 2: Select the e-KYC option

Click on “Ayushman Card” or “Generate Ayushman Card” on the home page of the app. Now you will see the option “Complete e-KYC”. Tap on it. You have two options for e-KYC: Aadhaar OTP Verification and Aadhaar Biometrics (at CSC). OTP Verification is easier through mobile, so choose: Aadhaar e-KYC via OTP. Enter your Aadhaar number.

Step 3: OTP will be sent to your Aadhaar number

An OTP will be sent by UIDAI to the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar. Enter the OTP and proceed. Once you enter the correct OTP, your e-KYC will be successfully completed. Your age, address, name, and other information will be automatically fetched.

Step 4: Generate Ayushman Card

After successful KYC, click on “Generate Ayushman Card.” Your digital Ayushman Card will be generated in a few seconds. You can download it as a PDF or send it via WhatsApp/email.

What will happen if e-KYC is not done?

If e-KYC is not completed on time, the following: The Ayushman card may become inactive. The hospital may refuse treatment. The beneficiary’s name may be removed from the scheme list. Therefore, the government is continuously running awareness campaigns to encourage people to complete e-KYC as quickly as possible.
