If you are a customer of HDFC Bank or State Bank of India, then there is very important news for you. The bank has alerted its crores of customers.

HDFC has sent a mail to customers asking them to link their Aadhaar with PAN by this month i.e. 30 September 2021, otherwise banking services may get affected.

State Bank of India (SBI) has informed its customers that it is mandatory to link their Permanent Account Number (PAN) with their Aadhaar card to access banking services. The last date for linking PAN card with Aadhaar has been extended to 30 September. PAN cards that are not linked with Aadhaar will become useless and will be declared “inactive” after this month.

HDFC Bank told customers

HDFC Bank has said that we are concerned that you will not be able to avail many banking services from October 1, 2021, as your PAN will be deactivated unless you link it with your Aadhaar. As per Section 139AA of the Income Tax Act 1961, every individual has to link his Aadhaar with his PAN by 30 September 2021.

SBI gave this information to the customers through its tweet

SBI has said in its tweet that PAN-linking is necessary. Failure to do so will result in the PAN card becoming in-active after September 30. Inactive PAN card cannot be quoted in any transaction. Customers who do not link their PAN card with Aadhaar within the time limit may face problems in banking transactions.
