If you are associated with the Atal Pension Yojana of the Central Government, then this news is for you. Various facilities are provided in this plan. One such facility is the change in the amount of pension. Now you can increase or decrease the pension amount once in a year..

Let us understand with example: Suppose you are currently giving your contribution towards the pension of Rs.2000 under Atal Pension Yojana. However, if you want the pension amount to increase to Rs 4,000, then you can request a change from your bank for this. Your contribution will also change once this request is accepted. After this your contribution will increase. The same rule will also be applicable for reducing the amount of pension. In this case your contribution will decrease.

Earlier this facility was available only in the month of April, when the subscribers could make changes in the pension amount. However, during the Corona period, the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) changed the rules of Atal Pension Yojana. After this, now you can increase or decrease the contribution once in a year.

Any Indian citizen from the age of 18 years to the age of 40 years can join this scheme. You can also invest a nominal amount of just Rs 42 per month in this scheme. On the death of the subscriber, the spouse is guaranteed the amount of pension for life.
