Bharti Airtel, one of India’s largest telecom companies, is rapidly rolling out 5G in the country. Now Airtel users are also being given the benefit of 5G services in 4 new cities of South India. Users living here will start getting better network connectivity in 5G smartphones.

The company’s 5G services were already available in Kochi and now users in Kozhikode, Thiruvananthapuram and Thrissur are also being given the benefit of 5G services. The company has said that users in these areas will get the benefit of the latest connectivity in a phased manner. The company plans to provide 5G services in all major cities by the end of the year.

20 to 30 times faster internet speed will be available

“We are excited to share that apart from Kochi, Airtel 5G Plus services have been launched in Kozhikode, Trivandrum (Thiruvananthapuram) and Thrissur,” said Amit Gupta, Chief Operating Officer, Bharti Airtel Kerala, in the official announcement. Here you will get 20 to 30 times faster speed than 4G without any extra cost.

5G network started available at these places in Kerala

Airtel’s 5G services in Thiruvananthapuram will be available in Vajuthakkad, Thampanoor, East Fort, Palayam, Pattam, Kazhakoottam, Vattiyoorkavu, Pappanamcode, Kovalam, Vizhinjam and Valiyavila. On the other hand, 5G network is available in Nadakkave, Palayam, Kallai, West Hill, Kuttichira, Eranipalem, Meenchanda, Thondaday, Malaparamaba, Elathur and Kunnamangalam in Kozhikode.

Airtel users living in Ramavarmapuram, Thrissur Round, East Fort, Kurkenchery, Olarikara, Olur, Mannuthi and Nadathara in Thrissur district will get the latest connectivity benefits on their 5G smartphones.

These device settings need to be changed

If you live in areas where Airtel’s 5G services have been rolled out, you will need a 5G smartphone to access 5G. After going to the settings of the 5G smartphone, you will have to go to SIM and Network Settings. Here after going to Preferred Network Type, you have to choose ‘5G only’. Let us tell you, some 5G devices can be connected to 5G only after updating to the latest software version.
