Airline companies will no longer be able to charge passengers extra for issuance of boarding passes at airport check-in counters. The Ministry of Civil Aviation gave this information on Thursday. IndiGo, the country’s largest airline, charges an additional fee for passengers asking for a boarding pass at the airport check-in counter. The ministry tweeted that it has come to the notice of the Ministry of Civil Aviation that airlines are charging extra for issuing boarding passes to passengers.

200 rupees extra charge

According to the news, the ministry said that this is not justified under the directions issued according to the provisions of the Aviation Rules, 1937. After this tweet of the ministry, now all airline companies will have to follow this rule.



In the current system, companies charge an additional Rs 200 for issuing passes to passengers without doing web check-in. Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia took cognizance of the complaints of the passengers. This additional fee was said to be wrong as per the rules.
