Air India Hiring Update: Good news! Air India to hire more than 1,000 new pilots, know details

Air India will start direct flights from Delhi to Zurich from June 16

Air India: Air India has ordered 470 aircraft to Boeing and Airbus. These include large aircraft as well. The company currently has more than 1,800 pilots. Airbus’ order includes 210 A320/321neo/XLR and 40 A350-900/1000 aircraft.


Air India Pilots Demand: Air India, owned by Tata Group, will hire more than 1,000 pilots to expand its fleet and network. Apart from senior pilots, trainees will also be included in this. Air India has ordered 470 aircraft from Boeing and Airbus. These include large aircraft as well. The company currently has more than 1,800 pilots. Airbus’ order includes 210 A320/321neo/XLR and 40 A350-900/1000 aircraft.

More than 500 aircraft are joining the company’s fleet

The airline has ordered 190 737-Max, 20 787S and 10 777 aircraft from Boeing. Tata Group had taken over Air India in January 2022. According to the advertisement taken out by Air India, the airline is now recruiting more than 1,000 pilots. The company said that more than 500 aircraft are joining its fleet. Air India introduced a new pay structure for pilots and cabin crew members on 17 April.

Both pilot unions rejected

Both the pilot unions Indian Commercial Pilots Association (ICPA) and the Indian Pilots Guild rejected it. Pilot unions said that the airline did not hold talks with them before finalizing the new contract. Earlier, in a petition signed by more than 1500 Air India pilots, it was alleged that the current HR is not listening to the concerns of the pilots. Both the unions of Air India pilots have asked their members not to sign or accept the revised contract and pay structure.
