Know how to update your address in Aadhaar

  • If you have recently moved your house and do not have any residential proof, then you need not worry. You can also get the address updated in your Aadhaar without any proof.
  • You will need an ‘Aadhaar Card Verifier’ to update the address in Aadhaar. Through this you can update your address even without aadhar.
  • This is how you can update the address in your Aadhaar
  • To update the address through ‘Aadhaar Card Verifier’, you have to first apply for the Address Validation Letter.
  • For this, you can download the validation letter by visiting the UIDAI website and going to ‘Request Aadhaar Validation Letter’ from the Aadhaar Update section.
  • After this, the Self Service Update Port (SSUP) will open on your screen.
  • Here you have to enter your Aadhar card number.
  • After this you will have to enter the Aadhaar card number of your ‘Aadhaar Card Verifier’.
  • Once the Aadhaar card of the verifier is accepted, an SMS will be sent to your registered mobile number.
  • An OTP will come as soon as you click on the link found in the SMS.
  • The verifier has to enter this OTP and captcha code and click on the Verify button.
  • Once the verification is complete, a Service Request Number (SRN) will be sent to you via SMS.
  • After this, you will have to log in through this Service Request Number (SRN) and verify your new address.
  • After this, an ‘Address Validation Letter’ and ‘Secret Code’ will be sent to the Aadhaar Card Verifier.
  • After this you have to go to the section of Aadhaar Update and go to Update Address via Secret Code.
  • Your new address will be updated in your Aadhar card as soon as you enter the secret code here.

Be sure to keep this in mind

You can update your Aadhaar only once in a lifetime. Once you change the address in Aadhaar, you cannot change it again.
