Aadhaar-Pan linking: 32.71 crore PAN cards linked to Aadhaar till date, 31 March 2021 is the last date

New Delhi So far, 32.71 crore Permanent Account Number (PAN) has been added from the biometric identity card Aadhaar. The government gave its information on Wednesday. My Village India wrote on Twitter, “More than 32.71 crore PANs have been added from Aadhaar.” The government has already extended the date of linking Aadhaar with PAN to 31 March 2021.



According to the tweet, by June 29, 50.95 crore PANs have been allocated. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) issues a 12-digit Aadhaar while the Income Tax Department issues a 10-digit PAN (including English and numerals) to any individual or entity.

According to the Income Tax Department, if PAN is not linked to Aadhaar within the stipulated period, it will become inactive. In a separate tweet, My Village India has given information about the income distribution of those filing income tax returns through a graph. Accordingly, 57 percent of the units filing income tax returns are those whose income is less than 2.5 lakh rupees.



According to the data, 18 percent of those who fill their income are 2.5 to 5 lakh rupees, 17 percent of the income is between 5 lakh rupees to 10 lakh rupees and seven percent of the income is between 10 lakh to 50 lakh rupees. Only one percent of those who file income tax returns show their income above Rs 50 lakh.
