New Delhi. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the “Aadhaar” issuing body, on Tuesday suspended Pankaj Goyal, an assistant director general posted at its regional office in Delhi, for an investigation into allegations of corruption with immediate effect. Pankaj Goyal was arrested in New Delhi by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) taking a bribe of Rs 1 lakh.




In a statement issued by UIDAI, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Pankaj Goyal’s headquarters will be New Delhi during the investigation process and he will not leave the headquarters without permission. UIDAI Assistant Director General Pankaj Goyal has been arrested from New Delhi Regional Office red-handed taking a bribe of Rs 1 lakh. Director General of Anti-Corruption Bureau B.L. He said that the complainant in KCB’s quota office complained that he had applied for the franchise for making Aadhaar ID several times, but he did not get the franchise. He contacted Assistant Director General Pankaj Goyal at the Regional Office of UIDAI located in New Delhi. Goyal demanded a hefty bribe in exchange for the allocation of franchise. It is noteworthy that Pankaj Goel is looking at the work of Aadhaar ID in 5 states.

After this, the team of the Bureau, after laying a trap in the Delhi Regional Office, arrested the Assistant Director General (ADG) Pankaj Goyal, working in the Regional Office of the UIDAI, Government of India, while taking an alleged bribe of Rs one lakh. A case is being investigated against Pankaj Goyal by registering a case under Prevention of Corruption Act 1988.
