Aadhaar Card Latest Update: UIDAI is continuously encouraging to update Aadhaar card which is 10 years old or more. This promotion is especially for those Aadhaar cards which have not been updated even once.
You must know about an important update regarding your Aadhaar. The date for updating Aadhaar card absolutely free is ending on 14th December (Thursday). This service of updating Aadhaar card for free is available on myAadhaar portal. To update Aadhaar card through any Aadhaar centre, a charge of Rs 50 has to be paid. The last date for free update on myAadhaar portal is 14 December 2023.
UIDAI is continuously encouraging Aadhaar card holders to update the details of identity and address proof. This is especially for those people whose Aadhar card is more than 10 years old and has never been updated.
There are two ways to make changes in demographic details like name, date of birth, address in Aadhaar card. It can be updated online or can be updated by visiting the nearest Aadhaar center.
How to use this free service?
- The Aadhaar card holder will first have to login to https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/portal with the help of Aadhaar card number. A One Time Password (OTP) will be sent to the registered mobileline. After this, users will have to verify their details by going to Document Update and update the documents to re-validate the information. To avail this facility, proof of identity and address will have to be submitted on the official website.
- Step – 1. First of all go to Aadhaar Self Service Update Portal and click on the option of Proceed to update Address.
- Step – 2. After this, login to this portal with the help of Aadhaar number and OTP sent on the registered mobile number.
- Step – 3. Click on Proceed to update Address for valid address proof.
- Step – 4. Here you have to enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number and click on Send OTP.
- Step – 5. After this, in the next step, fill the OTP sent on the registered mobile number. Now you will be logged in to your Aadhaar account.
- Step – 6. Here, fill the new address by choosing the option of update address via address proof. You can also update the address through the option of Update Address via Secret Code.
- Step – 7. In the option of Proof of Address, you will have to enter the residential address.
- Step – 8. After this, now select the document in the document type which will be submitted as proof.
- Step – 9. Now you have to submit the scanned copy of address proof and then click on Submit button.
- Step – 10. Now your Aadhaar update request will be submitted and your 14-digit Update Request Number (URN) will be generated.
Check status of update request?
With the help of URN you can check the status of Aadhaar address update. Once the address is updated, you can download the updated version and print it. There is a list of all the documents on the UIDAI website, which you can use as proof to update your address.
