Aadhaar Card is an essential document in today’s time. Most of your work cannot be done without Aadhaar Card. Today Aadhaar card is required for every small and big work. UIDAI has made many announcements from time to time regarding Aadhaar Card.
Amidst all this, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) opposed the application in the Delhi High Court seeking to issue a new Aadhaar number to a trader.
On behalf of UIDAI, it was said in the court that such a request would be like asking for the vehicle registration number of the people of their choice.
Advocate Zuhaib Hasan, appearing for UIDAI, submitted before Justice Rekha Palli that it would be like a fancy number plate for a car.
Justice Palli is hearing an application alleging that the personal details of the petitioner, including the Aadhaar number, have been compromised.
Hassan said the current framework provides multiple levels of security to Aadhaar card holders and if this application is accepted, there will be a large number of people seeking change of their Aadhaar number.
He also suggested that the petitioner get his mobile number and email address linked so that his Aadhaar number is of special use only.
The next hearing of the case will take place in January.
