UIDAI, the organization that provides Aadhaar services, has given information about the charges for updating in Aadhaar. Rs 50 is charged for demographic update in Aadhaar and Rs 100 for biometric update.

UIDAI gave this information after a user on social media filed a complaint regarding imposition of additional charge. It was said in the complaint that for making a new Aadhaar card, a charge of Rs 250 is charged at the Aadhaar center.

What was the answer given by UIDAI?
Responding to the complaint of the complainant, UIDAI said that a complaint can be filed against anyone who is taking extra money from customers for providing Aadhaar facilities. UIDAI said that any customer can call 1947 and file a complaint against it.

How to file complaint online

  • Click on uidai.gov.in or directly at resident.uidai.gov.in/file-complaint
  • After this enter your 14 number EID number, date and time
  • Now enter your name and your mobile number
  • Now enter your email id, postal pin code and other details
  • Select the type and category of your complaint
  • After that write your complaint in detail and enter captcha
  • Now click on submit button, your complaint will be registered
