7th Pay Commission Latest News in Hindi: Employees of government companies of electricity distribution sector boycotted work in the state from Monday over their various demands including salary hike and bonus payment before Diwali. The Madhya Pradesh United Forum for Power Employees and Engineers (MPUFPEE) had called for the protest last week. MPUFPEE’s coordinating engineer VKS Parihar told PTI, “Employees and engineers of government power companies have started an indefinite work boycott movement for their five-point demand. These demands include 50 per cent payment of arrears of dearness allowance, salary hike and demand for payment of bonus before Diwali.

He said that MPUFPEE has already put forth its demand in meetings with the State Energy Minister and the Principal Secretary, Energy Department. The assurances were given in these meetings, but no action has been taken so far. He said that MPUFPEE is a joint forum of 11 unions of engineers and employees of government power companies. Parihar said that our other demands include allowance to contract engineers and employees and payment of bonus to employees engaged on outsourced basis along with salary for the month of October before Diwali and the benefit of increment and dearness allowance.

At the same time, leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday demonstrated at the Civic Center, the headquarters of the North and South Delhi municipal bodies, to protest against the non-payment of salaries to the employees of the Municipal Corporation. Protesting AAP leaders and councilors demanded immediate payment of salaries to the employees of the municipal bodies. The three municipal bodies in Delhi, North, East and South Delhi Municipal Corporation are ruled by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), while AAP is the main opposition party in these corporations. AAP councilor and Leader of Opposition in North Delhi Municipal Corporation Vikas Goel alleged that MCD employees have not received their salaries for the last two-three months.

During the protest, Goyal said, “Diwali is just two days away and MCD workers be it sanitation workers, DBC (Domestic Breeding Checkers to check breeding of insects, mosquitoes) workers, or teachers, nurses and others. Yes – everyone is waiting for their salary. They have not been paid for the last two-three months. This is an injustice to them. We demand immediate release of salaries of the employees of the corporation.” He said that all AAP councilors and workers have gathered here to pressurize the civic bodies to release the salaries to MCD employees ahead of the festival.
