After informal discussion on this issue in the cabinet, the Finance Department will issue a notification in this regard. The arrears of pensioners will also be assessed.

Dearness allowance will increase by 3 percent

A decision can also be taken on increasing the dearness allowance of employees by 3 percent. As recently indicated by the Additional Chief Secretary Finance. He had assured the union leaders that the state government would issue an order to increase the dearness allowance next month, while the arrears of the revised pay scale would be received in September. It will benefit 2.25 lakh employees and 1.90 lakh pensioners. The second installment of the new pay scale may also be fixed.

According to media reports, after preparing the formula for giving arrears, the Finance Department has sent its file to the Chief Minister’s Office. Under this, the entire arrears of one to two lakh rupees will be given to the fourth class employees in the new pay scale. It is believed that it can be 10 to 18% of the total dues according to different levels of employees. Under the revised pay scale, the Himachal Pradesh government can give 50 to 75 thousand rupees in the first installment of arrears to the third class personnel and 30 to 50 thousand rupees in the first installment to the first and second class officers.
