7th Pay Commission: Relief to employees, decision on increase in fitment factor is going to be taken, know full details

Significantly, the central employees have been demanding an increase in the fitment factor for a long time. Actually, there is an increase in the basic salary under the fitment factor.

Demand for increase in fitment factor-

At present, fitment factor is being given to central employees (7th Pay Commission) at the rate of 2.57 per cent. There is a demand to increase it to 3.68 times.

With the increase in fitment factor from 2.57 to 3.68, the minimum basic pay will increase from Rs 18,000 to Rs 26,000. If the central government accepts this demand, then there will be a tremendous increase in the minimum salary of central employees.

Significantly, the last time the fitment factor was increased in the year 2016. The 7th Pay Commission was also implemented in the same year. At that time the minimum salary of the employees went straight from Rs 6000 to Rs 18,000.

While the ceiling was increased from Rs 90,000 to Rs 2.5 lakh. Now the government can again increase the salary of central employees this year.

Demand to increase minimum basic pay from Rs 18000 to Rs 26000-

The fitment factor determines the basic pay for all central government employees. This time, if there is a possible increase in the fitment factor, then the minimum basic pay will increase from Rs 18000 to Rs 26000.

There may be an increase of four percent in DA.

These days the central government is kind to the central employees. After increasing the Dearness Allowance (DA) by four percent in September, now the government is going to increase DA once again in the month of January 2023.
