With the increase in Dearness Allowance, the House Rent Allowance (HRA) and Traveling Allowance (TA) of these employees have also increased significantly.

Another advantage with HRA

According to Harishankar Tiwari, former president of AG Office Brotherhood, Prayagraj, which calculates dearness allowance, the rate of HRA has also increased after crossing the 25 percent mark of DA. Now the central employee will get 9, 18 and 27 percent HRA instead of 8, 16 and 24 percent. The committee formed for the 7th Pay Commission had fixed the slab of HRA along with the implementation of the new pay scale. However, it was kept at a minimum of Rs 5400 per month.


Basic Salary: Minimum Rs 24200 per month

Dearness Allowance (17%) which was getting earlier = Rs 4114 per month

How much was the increase in DA (11 percent) = Rs 2662 per month

Total DA (28 percent) will now be available = Rs 6776 per month

Transport Allowance (TA) (Metro workers) = Rs 4608 per month

Total Salary : Rs 35,584 per month (Excluding HRA & other Perks) will be made

Advantage in Transport Allowance

According to Harishankar Tiwari, the employees of Level – 1 to 2 will get TA from Rs 1152 to Rs 4608. At the same time, employees from Level 3 to Level 8 will get traveling allowance from Rs 2304 to Rs 4608 per month. Level 9 and above employees will get allowance ranging from Rs 4608 to Rs 9216. Traveling allowance is calculated on the basis of Dearness Allowance. Transport allowance also increases as dearness allowance increases.

January-June data also came



Harishankar Tiwari said that the figures of dearness allowance for the half yearly period from January to June have also arrived. It will increase by 3 percent. With this, the DA of the employees will increase from 28 percent to 31 percent.
