7th Pay Commission: The luck of more than one crore central employees and pensioners of the country is going to shine once again. The wait for the increase in DA of the central employee is going to end soon.

The government can give a one-time increase in DA to the central employees. According to reports, there may be a 6 percent increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) of central employees and Dearness Relief (DR) of pensioners from next month i.e. July. If there is an increase of 6 percent in DA, then their salary will increase by about Rs 41,000.

At present, central employees are getting DA at the rate of 34 percent, if the government increases DA by 6 in July, then it can increase to 40 percent. With this, there may be an increase in the salary of central employees from Rs 12,960 to Rs 40,968. Although no confirmation has been made by the government, this estimate has been made from the AICPI Index 2022.

It is being told that the government can increase DA by 6 percent in July on the basis of All India Consumer Price Index. According to the data of AICP Index, in the month of January this figure was at 125.1 while in February it was at 125. Whereas in March it increased to 126. At the same time, in April, the AICPI index has come down to 127.7 points. There has been an increase of 1.35 percent in this, now the figure for May is coming. If this figure increases in May also, then there may be an increase in DA by 6 percent.

It is estimated that in the coming days, dearness allowance will increase at the rate of 6 percent. But, the figures for May and June are yet to come. In such a situation, if this index crosses 129, then there can be an increase in dearness allowance by 6 percent.

There will be a bumper increase in salary

If we look at the minimum basic salary at Rs 18,000, then the total increase in annual dearness allowance at the rate of 40 percent will be Rs 12960. This means that the current dearness allowance will increase by Rs 1080 every month. In total, central employees with a basic salary of Rs 18000 will be paid dearness allowance of Rs 86,400 annually. On the other hand, if we look at the maximum basic salary at Rs 56900, then the total increase in annual dearness allowance will be Rs 40968. That means, against the current dearness allowance, Rs 3414 will increase every month. In total, central employees with a basic salary of Rs 56900 will be paid dearness allowance of Rs 27,3120 annually.

Calculation on minimum basic salary

  • Basic salary of the employee – Rs 18,000
  • New Dearness Allowance (40%) – Rs 7,200/month
  • Dearness Allowance so far (34%) – Rs 6120/month
  • How much dearness allowance increased – 7200-6120 = Rs.1080 / month
  • Increase in annual salary – 1080 X12 = Rs 12,960

Calculation on maximum basic salary

  • Basic salary of the employee – Rs 56,900
  • New Dearness Allowance (40%) – Rs 22,760/month
  • Dearness Allowance till date (34%) – Rs 19,346/month
  • How much dearness allowance increased – 22,760-19,346 = Rs 3,414/month
  • Increase in annual salary – 3,414 X12 = Rs 40,968

Revision is done in DA twice a year

In fact, under the Seventh Pay Commission, there is revision twice in dearness allowance and dearness relief of central employees. The first is given in the month of January and the second in July. On March 30, the government had increased the DA and DR by 3 per cent. After which it increased from 31 to 34 percent.

DA is given for better living

Dearness Allowance is given to improve the living conditions of government employees. It is given to government employees, public sector employees and pensioners. The reason for giving it is that the standard of living of the employees should be maintained even in the rising inflation.
