7th Pay Commission: Government has changed the rules for LTC of central employees, now they will get more benefits.

7th Pay Commission: If the air ticket booked under LTC is canceled due to any reason, the cancellation charges levied by the airlines, agent or platform will also be reimbursed.


7th Pay Commission : Three new rules related to LTC including train food and air ticket booking for central employees have been clarified earlier. According to DoPT, this benefit will be given to the employees on the basis of LTC rule. Three new rules for central employees have been informed by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). According to the notification issued by the Department of DoPT related to LTC, new rules have been issued regarding the cost of food during rail travel and ticket booking on government expenses.

These are the new rules related to LTC

Salary to government employees is given by the central government under the Seventh Pay Commission. At the same time, the rule of LTC for these employees has been fixed according to the Central Civil Services 1988. Here is the information about the new rules of DoPT. According to the notification of DoPT, now the employees can reimburse the expenses incurred on food during the train journey. If the Government servant opts for Railway Catering food during the train journey then that money will be reimbursed.

Air ticket booking rules

If an air ticket booked under LTC is canceled due to any reason, the cancellation charges levied by the airlines, agent or platform will also be reimbursed. According to the DoPT, government employees who are not entitled to travel by air are no longer required to compulsorily book their tickets through the three travel agencies IRCTC, BLCL and ATT. Bus or train fare will be applicable for the shortest route. On cancellation of ticket here, the cancellation charge will have to be borne by the employee.
