Before Diwali, central employees and pensioners can get a big gift. Actually, the government has to increase the dearness allowance and dearness relief to the employees and pensioners. It is believed that its announcement can be made before Diwali.

How much can be increased: It is possible to increase the dearness allowance or dearness relief of central employees and pensioners by 3 percent. This increase will be done for the July to December half yearly period. After this, the dearness allowance of the employees will increase to 31 percent of the basic pay. At the same time, pensioners will also be given dearness relief at the rate of 31 percent.

Consider the amount in terms of amount: Suppose the basic salary is 18 thousand rupees. The employees with this salary are getting Rs 5040 as dearness allowance. This amount is 28% of the basic salary. If this allowance is increased by 3 percent, then Rs 5580 will be available. This means that the salary of the employees will increase by Rs 540. You can calculate it on the basis of your basic salary. Higher the basic pay, dearness allowance will also be given accordingly.

Let us tell you that according to the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission, the dearness allowance of central employees is increased twice on half yearly basis. However, due to Corona, the dearness salary was not increased for three consecutive half-years. After this, in July, the dearness allowance was increased by 11 percent and the employees are now being given dearness allowance at the rate of 28 percent instead of 17. The same increase has been made in dearness relief to pensioners also.
