It is worth noting that the government is constantly demanding to give the arrears of DA hike withheld during the Corona period, in such a situation it is expected that the government may take a decision in this regard soon. Experts believe that Lok Sabha elections are to be held in April-May of 2024 next year. In such a situation, the government cannot take the risk of angering the central employees and pensioners.

According to the information received from the sources, several rounds of discussions have been held between the employees’ organizations, the Finance Ministry and the officials of the concerned departments regarding the outstanding arrears.

And it depends on the decision of the Central Government when it releases this amount. However, according to the news going on in the media, the central government may take a big decision soon by solving this long pending matter.

However, no official statement has come from the government on this yet. It is expected that in view of the ever-increasing demand of the employees, the government can pay it soon.

It is being told that the Secretary (Staff Side) of the National Council, Shiv Gopal Mishra has written a letter to the Cabinet Secretary, in which he has mentioned the decision of the Supreme Court dated 8 February 2021, in which the Supreme Court had said that due to the economic crisis Due to this, the salary and pension of the employees can be stopped temporarily, but it will have to be given back to the employees when the situation improves. This is the right of the employees. Payment should be made as per law.

The government has frozen three installments of DA hike during the Corona period.

Let us tell you that the central government has frozen three installments of DA of central government employees and pensioners. In fact, dearness allowance was increased by 11 percent from July 2021. After that the dearness allowance has been increased three more times. The total dearness allowance reached 38 per cent. But, after being frozen for one and a half years, there was no talk about DA arrears. The government has clarified that dearness allowance was frozen during the Corona period. In this case there is no option of arrears.

Employees will get big benefit from getting DA arrears-

According to an estimate, the DA arrears of Level-1 employees range from Rs 11,880 to Rs 37,554. Employees at Level-13 (7th CPC Basic Pay Scale Rs 1,23,100 to Rs 2,15,900) or Level-14 (Pay Scale) draw a DA of Rs 1,44,200 to Rs 2,18,200. The amount of arrears will be different for different grades of employees.
