7th Pay Commission: Diwali gift to central employees, DR increased by 4% after DA, Now so much money will come in the account

7th Pay Commission DR Hike: There is great news for central employees before Diwali. The government has increased the Dearness Relief (DR) by 4% for central government employees with effect from July 1, 2022. Let’s know the latest updates.


7th Pay Commission: Good news has come for the central employees before Diwali. Earlier the government increased dearness allowance from 34 percent to 4 percent to 38 percent. And now the government has increased the Dearness Relief (DR) by 4% for central government employees with effect from July 1, 2022. As per the Office Memorandum (OM) of the Department of Pensions and Pensioners’ Welfare, now the DR has been increased to 38%.

Know what is in the memorandum?

The memorandum issued by the department on October 8, 2022 reads, ‘Dearness relief admissible to Central Government pensioners/family pensioners will be increased from the existing rate of 34% to 38% with effect from 01.07.2022.’ The increase in DR will benefit Central Government employees, Central Government pensioners and family pensioners receiving pension from the Central Government. It is to be noted that the DR is usually declared twice a year in the months of September and March. Not only this, according to the pensioner portal, ‘The DR on pension/family pension in the months of January and February will be calculated as per the DR rates available for the month of December of the previous year.

DA hike will be implemented from July 1, 2022

The increase in DA by the government will be applicable from July 1, 2022. Earlier in March 2022, the government had announced to increase DA (Mehngai Bhatta) from January. At that time the DA of central employees was increased from 31 percent to 34 percent. Now it has increased to 38 percent. According to this, the employees will get DA Arrear of two months in the salary of September. Along with this, the news of Zee Media has also been stamped in which the DA hike was claimed on 28 September.

DA increases on this basis

Let us tell you that the Central Government considers the data of AICPI-IW (All India Consumer Price Index- Industrial Worker) index as the basis for increase in Dearness Allowance of lakhs of employees. The DA for July was announced on the basis of AICPI-IW data for the first half. With the index rising to 129.2 in June, the way for the DA hike to 4 percent was cleared.
