So the dearness allowance of the employees will be 42 percent.

AICPI figures were 132.3 points in December

Actually, the Labor Ministry’s All India Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers i.e. AICPI figures for December 2022 have come. The AICPI figure in December has been 132.3 points. At the same time, earlier there was a continuous increase in the AICPI figures from July to November, while the AICPI figures remained the same in October and November.

Increased DA will be applicable from January 2023

Recently, General Secretary of All India Railwaymen’s Federation Shiv Gopal Mishra had told news agency PTI that this time the increase in DA is 4.23 per cent, but the government does not take dearness allowance in decimal. That’s why there can be an increase of four percentage points in it.

The Expenditure Department of the Finance Ministry will make a proposal regarding the DA hike. It will be placed before the Union Cabinet for approval. If there is a DA hike in Holi then it will be applicable from January 2023.

Remember that dearness allowance is fixed by the central government for better living conditions of the employees. It is fixed twice a year in July and January.
