Only those employees who have retired between January 2020 and June 2021 will get the benefit of cash payment and gratuity. In a tweet about this, it has been said that the benefit of leave encashment and gratuity can be given to the retired employees.

This is good news for retired government employees. Now they will get the benefit of gratuity, cash payment and increased dearness allowance simultaneously. The Central Government has given this information in a tweet. The Expenditure Department of the Ministry of Finance has given this information. This department has said that now retired employees will also get the benefit of cash payment and gratuity.

A similar announcement was made recently for the working employees of the Central Government. For these employees and pensioners, the government has announced an increase in DA and DR. Due to Corona, the government had stopped the increase in DA, which has now been reinstated. After this decision, cash payment and gratuity benefits have also been announced for retired officers of the central government. The government has also issued gratuity to retired employees from January 2020 to June 2021. The government has issued a memorandum in which it has been announced to give DA from January 2020 to June 30, 2021.

Dearness allowance of these employees increased
Working employees have started getting the benefit of increased DA. It may also happen that the DA of the employees will increase once more. There is a report that the Dearness Allowance (DA) of central employees may once again increase. The dearness allowance of these employees has already been increased by 28%. Dearness allowance is to be announced for June 2021. But, last year due to the Kovid-19 epidemic, three half-yearly installments of Dearness Allowance were put on hold till July 2021. On July 14 itself, DA has been increased by 11 percent to 28 percent. Therefore, the decision is yet to be taken on the increase in June.

Which retired employees will get the benefit
Only those employees who have retired between January 2020 and June 2021 will get the benefit of cash payment and gratuity. In a tweet about this, it has been said that the benefit of leave encashment and gratuity can be given to the retired employees. This decision has come after the decision of the government in which the DA of working employees and pensioners has been increased from 17% to 28%. This decision has come into effect from July 1. Last year, in view of Corona, the increase in DA was stopped from January 2020 to June 2021.

How to calculate gratuity by retired officers
Its rule has been given in the Central Civil Services (Pension) Rules, 1972. Gratuity is calculated according to the date of retirement of the employee or the date of death of the employee. The National Percentage of DA has been announced for calculation of Gratuity and Leave Encashment. If an employee has retired between 1 January 2020 to 30 June 2020, then he will get DA of 21 percent. Employees who have retired from 1st July 2020 to 31st December 2020 will come under the slab of 24% DA. The 28% DA rule may apply to employees who have retired from 1 January 2021 to 30 June 2021.
