7th Pay Commission: Big news for government employees, change in this rule related to pension

Now if an employee dies before the completion of 7 years of service, then 50 percent of the pension amount will be given to the family. Earlier in many cases, due to this condition, the family members could not get the benefit of pension.

7th Pay Commission, 7th CPC Latest News, Government Employees: Changes have been made in the pension rules for central employees so that the family or dependents of the employee will get pension after his death. Under the new rule, in case of death of the employee before completing 7 years of service, the family and dependents will get 50 percent of the salary as pension amount.

As per the new rule, the government has removed the mandatory 7 years service condition for the dependents of a government employee to avail pension. Now if an employee dies before the completion of 7 years of service, then 50 percent of the pension amount will be given to the family. Earlier in many cases, due to this condition, the family members could not get the benefit of pension.

On the other hand, after a long wait, recently the Central Government has increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) of the employees. The government has increased it from the rate of 17 per cent to 28 per cent by restoring DA and Dearness Relief (DR) for its employees and pensioners.

These new rates have come into effect from 1 July 2021. The DA hike was frozen for one and a half years due to the Corona epidemic. Because of this, DA was being given only under the old rate i.e. 17 percent. After this decision, the employees are getting the salary and pensioners are getting the pension. Soon employees and pensioners may get another increase on DA and DR. According to the news released in the media, DA and DR can be increased by 3 percent before Diwali.
