In the Lok Sabha, the Bill 2021 related to amending the Salary and Service Rules was introduced in the High Court and the Supreme Court.



 

7th Pay Commission Latest News : On Tuesday (30 November 2021) in the Lok Sabha, the Bill 2021 related to the amendment in the Salary and Service Rules was introduced in the High Court and the Supreme Court. Under this new bill, in addition to pension to the judges of the High Court and Supreme Court, additional money or family pension will be from the first of every month. This pension will start getting when the age of the pensioner or pensioner in the family is completed.

In the Lok Sabha, Law and Justice Minister Kiren Rijiju introduced the Bill 2021 related to the amendment of the Salary and Service Rules in the High Court and Supreme Court amid the uproar of the opposition members. Laying out the purpose and reasons for this bill, he said that the Bill related to amendment in Salary and Service Rules in High Court and Supreme Court has been changed in 17B and 16B of 2009. Under this new amendment, the retired judge and the nominee made by the family after his death or as per the directions of the family will be entitled to the additional money.

Pension of retired judges of High Court and Supreme Court is being approved on attaining the age of 80 years, 85 years, 90 years and 100 years. It said that the Gauhati High Court in its order dated March 15, 2018, in a writ petition filed by retired High Court Judge Devendra Dutt Giani, held that as per Section 17B of the Northeast High Court Judges Act, the benefit of the quantum of additional pension in the first class is not available to any person. The retired judge will get from the first day of attaining the age of eighty years.
