Navratri 2023: Just before Navratri, the government can announce increase in dearness allowance for central employees and pensioners.

7th Pay Commission: The festive season has started. In the coming days, the festivals of Ganesh Chaturthi to Navratri, Diwali, Dhanteras are going to come. And in view of the upcoming festivals, the central government is going to open the treasury for its lakhs of employees and pensioners. After the special session of Parliament in the last week of September, Modi government can announce increase in dearness allowance of central employees and pensioners. In the last week of September, there is a possibility that the cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi may take a decision to increase the dearness allowance of central employees and pensioners.

Dearness allowance may increase by 3 percent

Central employees and pensioners have been waiting for an increase in dearness allowance since the month of July. There are chances that the Central Government may increase the dearness allowance by 3 percent from 42 percent to 45 percent. The decision to increase dearness allowance will come into effect from July 1. And the salary for the month of October will be given with increase in dearness allowance. Arrears for July to September can also be received along with October salary. According to statistics, this decision of the central government will benefit 47 lakh employees and 68 lakh pensioners.

Gift before Navratri!

The holy festival of Navratri is starting from 15th October and Dussehra is on 24th October. Therefore, there is full hope that dearness allowance of central employees and pensioners can be increased this month. Every year the government increases the dearness allowance twice. The first phase of increase in dearness allowance is applicable from January and the second phase from July. Changes are made in DA and DR on the basis of retail inflation data. In the retail inflation rate announced for the month of July in August 2023, the inflation rate has crossed the tolerance level of RBI to 7.44 percent. At the same time, the food inflation rate has been 11.51 percent. In such a situation, central employees hope that the government will give them relief from inflation.

It was believed that dearness allowance would be increased by 3 percent. Dearness allowance is calculated on the basis of Consumer Price Index of Industrial Workers which is released every month by the Labor Bureau. Central employees are hopeful of increasing the dearness allowance by 4 percent, but there is a greater possibility that the dearness allowance may be increased by 3 percent.
