7th Pay Commission News: The Department of Expenditure (DoE) under the Ministry of Finance has updated the House Rent Allowance (HRA) rules for central government employees. Now according to the new rules, in some cases government employees will not get HRA.

Now according to the new rules, in some cases government employees will not get HRA . These government employees will not be eligible for HRA.

These government employees will not get HRA

If the government employee is sharing the government quarter with any other government employee then they will not get HRA. If the employee is living in the government house of his parents, son or daughter, then HRA will not be available. It also includes employees of Central, State, Autonomous Public Sector Undertakings and Semi-Government Organizations. It also includes employees of Municipal Corporation, Port Trust, Nationalized Bank, LIC etc.

They will also not get HRA

If the spouse of a Government servant is living in the same household as the Government servant. He works in any of the government organizations mentioned above. If he is living in the same government house, living separately or living on rent, then he will not get ERRA.

The government gives this much house rent allowance ( HRA )

Any government salaried person living in a rented house. The expenses related to his house are divided into 3 categories. That is X, Y and Z..

1. ‘X’ stands for area with population of 50 lakhs and above. Here HRA is given 24% under 7th pay commission.

2. ‘Y’ stands for area with population between 5 lakh to 50 lakh. Here 16% is given.

3. Where the population is less than 5 lakhs, 8 percent is given.
