Big relief to central employees, pensioners: 4% increase in Dearness Allowance announced, it rained money

7th Pay Commission : Government employees can get good news on July 1. The AICPI index has risen to 127.7 points in the month of April.

According to media reports, there has been an increase in April and March 2022, after which it is expected that the government may increase the dearness allowance (DA) by five percent, not three. If this happens, then the DA of the employees will increase from 34 percent to 39 percent . If this happens, the salary of employees can increase by more than 34,000.

DA will be 39 percent

The first two months of the year 2022 saw a decline in the AICPI index in January and February. 125.1 in January, 125 in February and then increased by 1 point to 126 in March. According to the data of April, the AICPI index has come down to 127.7. It has increased by 1.35 percent.

Now if the figures for May and June cross 127, then it can increase by 5 percent. DA of employees may increase from July 1 . Central government employees who used to get 34 percent DA earlier, will now get 39 percent DA.

Salary will increase so much after being 39 percent

The basic salary of the employees is Rs 56,900, they will get DA of Rs 22,191 on getting 39 percent dearness allowance . At present, Rs 19,346 is being received at the rate of 34 percent. An increase of 5 per cent DA will result in an increase of Rs 2,845 in salary. That is, there will be an increase of about Rs 34,140 annually.

50 lakh employees will benefit

The government increases DA twice a year. Earlier this year, the government has increased DA once. Presently DA is 34 per cent. If it is increased by another 5 per cent, then it will become 39 per cent. This decision will benefit more than 50 lakh government employees and 65 lakh pensioners.

While waiting for the second dearness allowance (DA) hike of the year, central government employees may be in for a higher pay hike than before. While earlier the expected DA hike was 4 per cent, this figure may increase due to the recent All-India Consumer Price Industrial Workers or CPI(IW) data for industrial workers.

DA may increase up to 39%

At present, the DA is 34 per cent and with earlier expectation, this figure would have reached 38 per cent. But now, the latest reports in the media have claimed that the increase will reportedly be over 5 per cent. It is based on AICPI (All-India Consumer Price Index) for April 2022.

That is, the relief that the central government employees can get from inflation in the name of DA , may increase further in July. With the expected 4 per cent increase, this amount was calculated based on Rs 8,000 to Rs 27,000 on the basic pay.

A hike of 5 per cent would mean that the new DA rate would be 39 per cent. This will come in the form of a huge increase in the number of employees under the Centre. The first DA revision for 2022 was announced by the government in March when the rate was increased from 31 per cent to 34 per cent with a hike of 3 per cent.

From 125.4 in December 2021, the AICPI fell to 125.1 in January 2022 and 125 in February. The number was 126 for March. In April, the AICPI has risen in a significant jump to 127.7. Along with April’s AICPI data, reports claim that the government may announce a hike of 5 per cent in July instead of the earlier expectation of 4 per cent.
