Dearness allowance of central employees and dearness relief for pensioners is to increase in January 2022. Discussions have also started on social media regarding this. It is being told that there may be an increase of 2 to 3% in DA.

There is important news for central employees. Dearness Allowance of Employees and Dearness Relief for Pensioners (7th Pay Commission) has been postponed till July 2022. For this, an Office Memorandum has also been issued by the Ministry of Finance. It is written in this that dearness allowance and dearness relief have been postponed till July 2022. Actually this OM is going viral on social media.

As soon as this OM went viral, there was a ruckus on social media. But, the truth behind it was something else. This news, which was constantly going viral on social media, turned out to be false. And this OM is also fake.

Dearness allowance postponed due to new variants?

Actually, an OM on behalf of the Department of Expenditure of the Ministry of Finance is being viral very fast on social media. In this (Office Memorandum) it is written that due to the increasing infection of the new variant Omicron of Corona virus (Covid 19), Dearness Allowance of Central Government employees and pensioners (Central Government Pensioners) should be given. The decision of Dearness Relief has been postponed till July 2022 to deal with the immediate situation.

What is the viral post written?

Let us tell you that PIB on its fact check termed this news as fake and false. Actually, this viral post is exactly like the OM issued by the government on the arrival of Corona virus in the year 2020. That’s why people got confidence in this letter. It is worth noting that during that period, for 18 months, the government had postponed dearness allowance, dearness relief for central employees and pensioners till June 2021.

But, it was restored again from July 2021 last year. After this there was an increase in the DA and DR of the employees. Now the wicked of social media tried to spread this rumor by preparing the same office memorandum. It was written in this false memorandum that the new Omicron variant has been postponed till July 2022 to deal with the unprecedented situation. Whenever the government takes a decision, dearness allowance will be given prospectively from the old date itself. This order will be applicable to central employees and pension holders of the central government. As a result, there was panic among the people.

When will the dearness allowance of central employees increase?

Let us tell you that the Dearness Allowance (DA) of Central Employees (7th Pay Commission Update) is to increase in January 2022. However, how much it will increase is not clear yet. It will be announced in February. The figures of AICPI till November 2021 have come. Dearness Allowance is calculated on the basis of AICPI index figures. It is being told that the December figure will come at the end of January 2022. After that it will be decided how much will the next dearness allowance increase. After this the government announces it and approval is given from the cabinet. It is clear in the data till November 2021 that dearness allowance may increase by 2 percent in January 2022. That is, the total DA of the employees can be 33 percent.
