If the fitment factor of the employees increases, then there can be a big increase in their basic salary.

DA will get 33 percent

At the same time, the data for All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI) November has come. The index is 125.7. This means that there will be a direct increase of 2 percent in Dearness Allowance. At present, central employees are getting 31 percent dearness allowance. Announcement of DA hike is expected in January. That is, after this the employees will start getting 33 percent DA.

According to media reports, before increasing the DA, the government can take a decision regarding the fitment factor. Right now the fitment factor is 2.57, while the employees have been demanding it to be 3.68 for a long time. Basic salary will be 26 thousand rupees


If the central government increases the fitment factor, then the salary of central employees will automatically increase. The fitment factor decides the basic salary for all central government employees. The fitment factor was last increased in 2016, in which the minimum basic pay of employees was increased from Rs 6,000 to Rs 18,000. A possible increase in the fitment factor could lead to a minimum basic pay of Rs 26,000. At present, the minimum basic pay is Rs 18,000, which will increase to Rs 26,000.

After the fitment factor is 3.68, the basic salary of the employees will become 26 thousand rupees. Right now, if your minimum salary is Rs 18 thousand, then excluding allowances, you will be getting Rs 46,260 (18,000 X 2.57 = 46,260) according to the 2.57 fitment factor.

If the fitment factor is 3.68, then your salary will be Rs 95,680 (26000X3.68 = 95,680). That is, your salary will be doubled. At the same time, the employees with maximum salary will get more increase.

Right now the fitment factor is 2.57. While determining the salary, apart from the allowances like DA, TA, HRA etc., the basic salary of the employee is calculated by multiplying the fitment factor by 2.57.
