New Delhi: 7th Pay Commission: There is good news for the central employees. The Union Cabinet has given permission to increase Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) at the rate of four percent for central employees and pensioners. Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur told reporters that a proposal to this effect was approved in the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The burden of Rs 12,852 crore will fall on the exchequer,

He said, adding that this installment will be applicable from July 1, 2022. He said that under this, installments of dearness allowance and dearness relief at the rate of four percent would be released for central employees and pensioners. This will cost the exchequer Rs 12,852 crore annually.

Thakur said that in the period of eight months from July 2022 to February 2023, Rs 8,588 crore would be spent from the exchequer in implementing this decision.

Employees will get two months DA arrears

Till now, the central employees were getting dearness allowance at the rate of 34 per cent. Now it has increased to 38 percent. The increased dearness allowance of employees has come into effect from July 2022. In such a situation, he will also get DA arrears of July and August in the salary of September.

There will be such an increase in the salary of the minimum wage

Employees will get increased salary due to increase in DA. After getting 38 percent dearness allowance, the salary of employees with minimum salary of Rs 18,000 will increase by Rs 720 per month. At the same time, the annual increase will be Rs 8640.

Similarly, the monthly salary of employees with maximum salary of Rs 56,900 will increase by Rs 2276, while the annual salary increase will be Rs 27,132.

Let us inform here that this calculation has been done on the basis of basic salary. Salary may increase after adding other allowances to it.
