Employees are now getting salary as per 7th Pay Commission (7th Pay Commission). Now the idea of the government is not to bring the Eighth Pay Commission. Instead of the Pay Commission, the government is considering implementing a new formula for determining the salary of employees.

New Delhi. Central government employees are currently getting salary according to the Seventh Pay Commission (7th Pay Commission). But, it may be that this will be the last pay commission to be brought to increase the salary. The Central Government is now contemplating to stop the practice of Pay Commission by implementing a new formula for the salary of the employees. Former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had told about this new formula in 2016, but after his death it went into cold storage.

According to a report by Moneycontrol.com, now once again the Central Government can do something new instead of Pay Commission to increase the salary of the employees. There is a possibility that the government will not bring the Eighth Pay Commission. Now the salary of the employees can increase according to their performance (performance linked increment). The government is now considering the pros and cons of the new formula and the process of implementing it. According to media reports, sources in the Finance Ministry said that now the new pay commission will not come for the central government employees.

Former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s Idea

To increase the salary of employees instead of Pay Commission, the idea of increasing the salary on the basis of their performance is of former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. Pointing to this in July 2016, Jaitley had said that we should now think about the employees apart from the Pay Commission.

Salary can be fixed like this

The government is working in this direction that such a formula should be made for 68 lakh central employees and 52 lakh pensioners, in which the salary will automatically increase if there is 50 percent DA. This process can be named as Pay Revision Automatically. However, the government has not taken a final decision about abolishing the pay commission and implementing the new formula and the issue is still in the deliberation stage.

It will benefit

Former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley wanted that there should be a good increase in the salaries of middle level employees as well as low level employees. However, the formula for this is yet to be made. But, if the new formula is implemented, then the basic salary of a central employee of level matrix 1 to 5 level can be at least 21 thousand.
