7th Pay Commission: 3% increase in DA, announcement of advance salary, Christmas gift to these employees

Central employees are also waiting for the increase in dearness allowance in the new year. Dearness allowance may increase by 4 percent in the first half of the year 2024. If this happens then the allowance will increase to 50 percent.


7th pay commission: Only a few days are left for the beginning of the new year. Earlier, the Government of Meghalaya has increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) of its employees by 3 percent. Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma announced early release of December salaries for 55,000 government employees of the state and a three percent increase in dearness allowance.

What did the Chief Minister say: Meghalaya Chief Minister wrote on social media platform X – Merry Christmas to our team of 55,000 government employees of the state. We are pleased to announce that December salaries are being released early. Apart from this, a three percent increase in DA has been approved. The Chief Minister also shared an office memorandum of the Finance Department, in which the Governor has decided to increase the dearness allowance for employees and pensioners from the existing 36 percent to 39 percent with effect from July 1.

Punjab has also announced

This week, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced a 4 percent increase in the Dearness Allowance (DA) of government employees. This increase will be effective from December. After this increase, DA will increase to 38 percent. According to Punjab State Ministry Allied Services Union (PSMSU), the Chief Minister assured that the remaining eight percent DA will also be given soon.

Central employees wait for the new year

Now central employees are also waiting for the increase in dearness allowance in the new year. Dearness allowance may increase by 4 percent in the first half of the year 2024. If this happens then the allowance of central employees will increase to 50 percent. After this increase, the House Rent Allowance (HRA) of central employees will also increase. Let us tell you that the Seventh Pay Commission has recommended that in case the allowance of central employees is 50 percent, HRA will also be increased.
