After increasing Dearness Allowance and Relief (DA/DR Hike) under 6th Pay Commission, Punjab Government has taken another big decision in the interest of employees. Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Tuesday (Punjab Cabinet Meeting 2021 Punjab Protection and Regularization of Contractual Employees Bill-2021 has been approved to regularize the services of the employees.



In the cabinet meeting of Charanjit Singh Channi on Tuesday, the Punjab Protection and Regularization of Contractual Employees Bill-2021 has been approved, under which 36,000 employees of the state will be regularized. At present, all these employees are working on contract, ad-hoc, daily wage and temporary work in various government departments. With this decision, the services of about 36,000 employees with more than 10 years of service will be regularised.

Apart from this, the increase in minimum wage has also been approved from March 1, 2020. With the increase in minimum wage, an employee will also be entitled to get arrears of Rs 8,251 from March 1, 2020 to October, 2021. On the basis of the same Consumer Price Index, the revision of the minimum wage was to be done on March 1, 2020, it has been increased by Rs 415.89, due to which it has now increased from Rs 8776.83 to Rs 9192.72.
